St. George Regional Airport (SGU) — Small regional airport served by United Airlines (from Denver) and American Airlines (from Phoenix/Dallas). Direct flights are limited; most visitors fly into Las Vegas.
Las Vegas McCarran Airport (LAS) — 117 miles / ~2 hours southwest. By far the most common gateway to St. George. Major carriers from everywhere. Rental cars available at the airport. The drive on I-15 is straight and scenic.
Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) — 303 miles / ~4 hours north. More flight options, longer drive. The I-15 route goes through the beautiful Utah canyon country.

St. George has a high desert climate with mild winters and hot summers. The "shoulder seasons" (spring and fall) are absolutely glorious.
St. George has a wide range of lodging options, from national chains to boutique hotels and vacation rentals.
Major hotel brands are concentrated along Bluff Street (UT-18) and near the I-15 exits. You'll find everything from budget motels to upscale resorts. Recommended areas:
Excellent selection of condos, townhomes, and private homes on Airbnb and VRBO. Great for groups and families. Many are clustered around golf courses or with red rock views.
St. George's dining scene has grown significantly. You'll find everything from casual Southwestern fare to farm-to-table cuisine.
Day 1: Arrive, check in. Afternoon at Snow Canyon State Park (Petrified Dunes, Lava Tube). Dinner downtown.
Day 2: Full day at Zion National Park. Shuttle to The Narrows or Angels Landing. Lunch at Zion Lodge. Sunset at Canyon Overlook Trail.
Day 3: Morning at Sand Hollow (kayak/paddleboard). Lunch at Viva Chicken. Explore Pioneer Park & historic downtown before departure.
Perfect during October (Marathon or Senior Games).
Day 1: Arrive, packet pickup, explore downtown.
Day 2: Race day (Marathon or Senior Games event) + recovery. Evening dinner celebration.
Day 3: Snow Canyon State Park + Quail Creek fishing/kayaking.
Day 4: Zion National Park full day.
Day 5: Sand Hollow OHV or paddleboarding, then depart.

Absolutely. It's 45 minutes to the park entrance with far more lodging and dining options than Springdale. The trade-off is a short drive each morning.
March-May and September-November offer the best weather for outdoor activities. October is peak season due to the Marathon and Senior Games.
Yes. The city is spread out and the parks require driving. Rent a car at Las Vegas airport (cheapest option) or at St. George Regional Airport.
Very. Town Square Park, the Children's Museum, the Aquatic Center, and easy hikes like Red Reef and Pioneer Park are all perfect for kids.
Yes! It's 2.5 hours each way. Leave by 7 AM, spend 4-5 hours exploring, and be back by dinner. Make sure it's between May 15 and October 15 (North Rim closes in winter).
